The Celebration of Life for Mr. Joseph "Joe" Jacobs, 94, of Orange, will be Saturday at
11:00 a.m. at the Mount Sinai Baptist Church. Rev. Calvin C. Jones, Pastor, will
officiate. Rites of Christian Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens under the
direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. He died July 19, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in
Houston, TX. A native of Bell Place, LA, he resided in Orange 68 years. His working
years were spent as a Cemetery Caretaker. He is survived by one son, Jerald Jacobs of
Dallas, TX, 2 daughters, Gloria (Fiesta) Antoine of Orange and Hazel Jacobs of Port
Arthur, TX, 1 brother, Earl Jacobs of New Iberia, LA, 13 grandchildren, 40 great
grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

James "Jim" Mike Griffin, 72, of Orange, died Friday July 25, 2008 in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Claybar Funeral Home in
Orange. Officiating will be Rev. Danny Gillam. Burial will follow at Orange Forest
Lawn Cemetery. Jim was born on September 19, 1935, in Sour Lake, Texas. He was the
son of Lee and Lena (Hutcherson) Griffin. He was baptized at Pine Ridge Baptist Church
in Sour Lake. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Griffin was retired from
Firestone Polymer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lena Griffin;
grandson, Jacob Paul Griffin and brother; A.A. Curlee Griffin. Survivors include his
wife of 50 years, Loretta Anne Bilbo Griffin; children, James (Andy) Griffin, Sr. and
wife Simmye, Cindy Griffin Burks and husband Buddy; and Carol Griffin Lopez and
husband Roger; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers, Frank Griffin,
Fred Griffin, and Johnny Griffin; sister, Margie Morgan; brother-in-law; Lannie Bilbo
and wife Kay; and sister-in-law; Nelda Young and husband Bill.

Dr. Arthur Theodore Morgan, 77, of Orange, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at Harbor
Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at
Eastgate United Pentecostal Church, Vidor, TX. Officiating will be Rev. Bobby
Edwards, Rev. Fred Foster; and Rev. Niles White. Services will be under the direction of
Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, TX. Dr. Morgan was born on March 12, 1931 in
Deridder; Louisiana. He was the son of Arthur Theodore, Sr. and Nell (Knight) Morgan.
He attended public schools both in Louisiana and Texas. He graduated from Thomas
Jefferson High School. In 1959, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar
University. He then went on to receive his Masters of Education in Counseling in 1964
from Stephen F. Austin State University and Doctor of Education in Guidance and
Counseling in 1971 at the University of Houston. In 1961 he began teaching Music and
English at Thomas Edison Junior High in Port Arthur. He moved to the West Orange24
